What the site is
RAP Calculator is an independent calculator and guide to federal student loan repayment. It is not the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid or a loan servicer, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. It cannot enroll you in a plan or see your loans. Apply for plans and manage your loans at StudentAid.gov and with your servicer.
Estimates, not advice
Results are estimates for planning, based on the numbers you enter, the federal rules described on the sources and methods page, and the stated assumptions. Your servicer's calculation decides your actual payment, and rules can change. Nothing on the site is financial, tax or legal advice. For decisions with tax consequences, such as your filing status or taxes on forgiveness, consult a qualified professional.
